Q. How do I compare job estimates?
A. You will need to compare estimates with all of
your needs presented to avoid any additional changes or job extras that
may or may not be covered by the other company's salesman up front. With
FMD, you will have no surprising hidden costs suddenly appear
on your final bill. All prices and charges will be discussed up front with the
customer. Please remember the water well drilling industry, as well as
many others, has been hit with an astronomical increase in fuel cost
and we are all at that mercy. Get your
estimates in writing, then compare (apples to apples), the bore hole size and
advantages of a long term, reliable experienced local company (FMD!).
We will tell you that FMD is not the least expensive but we are the BEST
and still keeping a completive
edge, this corporation will be here for you in the years to come.
Q. Does the other company offer complete system packages?
A. We offer a complete system package. We customize your
pump system and water storage to your needs and requirements. This particular
package is the "Fast Track" to
getting your building project underway. You must have water BEFORE you are able
to get the Fresno County Building Permits to begin your (dream home in the foothills)
building project.
Q. Do other companies use stabilizers behind the hammer to help maintain a straight bore hole?
A. We use stabilizers to keep the drill pipe centered in the bore hole.
Q. Is there a way to guarantee a straight hole?
A . There is no way to guarantee straight holes, due to
formation changes, fractures that are on an incline and rock that is tilted due
to up thrust. But we will do our best!
Q. Why do other companies use a smaller bore hole?
A . Some companies use a smaller bore hole (without regard to future needs of the customer) and can not go in behind themselves to deepen an existing well. The original bore hole size is a critical factor when going in to deepen an existing well.
Q. What is the workmanship guarantee from the other companies?
A. We guarantee our workmanship for life, if the original
customer is the owner of the property, we drilled the well for.
Q. How long has the "other company" been
in continuous business? Where is there base of operation? How many years in
business do they claim? Will they be able to serve your needs during the "busy" times?
A. Fronks Mountain Drilling began in 1976. FMD is your local drilling company, we live here and support our local community. We are proudly celebrating our 33rd continuous year in business, at the same location, serving the foothill communities.
Q. Does the other company belong to the Better Business Bureau and what is their rating? (It is wise to inquire before you sign a contract.)
A. We belong to the Better Business Bureau and are a member
in good standing. We encourage you to telephone and inquire of our business
practices.
Q. Does the other company provide you with current
Liability Insurance Certificate, Workman's Compensation Insurance, Automotive
Insurance
and the California Contractor
License Board materials "required by law" and the Lien Rights Information?
A. FMD is a licensed California Contractor. We abide by
all the laws governing our industry. We provide you with all the necessary and
required information for you as a consumer to make an educated decision regarding
your selection of a company to drill your well. We are members
in
good
standing with the National Ground Water Association, the California Groundwater
Association
since its inception, and Richard Fronk is President of our local Fresno Branch
of the California Ground Water Association. Richard Fronk is proud to serve on
the Fresno County Water Advisory Board.
Q. What do the other companies offer in the way of experience and long term support of our community and its growing needs?
A. FMD works closely with the Fresno County Community Health
and the California Department of Fish and Game, mindful of the environmental
issues and the federal, state and local requirements in our communities. We care
about the future. We are proven. After 33 years, you could say, we are here for
the long haul. We work with the local building contractors and developers in
keeping with Fresno County Covenant Conditions and Regulations for those in special
developed areas.
Q. Did the other company tell you about the Fresno County Well Test requirements?
There is a mandatory testing of new wells for water production yield, recovery/recharge and all wells must meet the Fresno County criteria.
Please view web site for more information.
A. When you choose FMD , to drill your well we install a complete pump system designed by our technicians to meet your water well needs. We will do the Fresno County well test for a set amount, as a package deal. This must be completed within 60 days of the start of drilling. This test shall be preformed by FMD using your power (if preexisting) or by using one of our large mobile generators. You, the customer, must accept and dispose of the discharge water, it can not be put in creeks.
